Cherubini’s Requiem was admired by Beethoven and performed at his memorial in 1827. Sitting at the heart of the early Romantic tradition, the music alternates between hushed, prayer-like passages and more dramatic choral writing, not least in the Dies irae. Come and explore this unjustly neglected masterpiece with us.
